Repair & Testing Service Terms

Tyrone Diesel Systems Ltd, Company Number NI715388
95 Dromore Road, Omagh, Co. Tyrone, Northern Ireland, BT78 5JH

1. The service

1.1 We test and repair diesel fuel-injection components (pumps, injectors, and related units) to a fixed quoted cost. Parts shown on our website as “Repair to Order” are supplied on this basis: you send us your unit, we test it, quote, and, with your approval, repair it.

1.2 These terms apply to all test and repair work, whether arranged through the website, by phone, by WhatsApp, or in person.

2. Sending us your unit

2.1 You are responsible for the cost and safe transit of your unit to us. Drain all fuel, fit protective caps where available, seal the unit in a plastic bag, and pack it securely; couriers may fine or destroy parcels leaking fuel, and any such charges may be passed on.

2.2 Include your name, contact details, and (where applicable) order or enquiry reference inside the parcel. Unidentifiable units cause delays.

2.3 Risk in your unit passes to us while it is in our possession; our responsibility is limited to the reasonable value of the unit in its as-received condition.

3. Inspection, testing, and quotation

3.1 On receipt we inspect and test your unit on approved OE test equipment and provide a quotation for the work required, normally within 10 working days of receipt and usually sooner.

3.2 The quotation is a fixed price for the described work and is valid for 14 days. Where the quoted work depends on parts we do not hold in stock, the quotation is additionally subject to parts availability: if a required part becomes unavailable, or its supply cost changes materially, before you approve the quotation, we will issue a revised quotation rather than proceed.

3.3 No repair work begins until you approve the quotation. If you decline, you may choose return of your unit (carriage at your cost) or disposal at no charge.

3.4 If a unit is tested and found to require no work, or you decline the quotation, a testing/inspection fee may apply. The fee varies by unit type and will be advised at enquiry, before you send your unit in.

3.5 Some units are beyond economic repair. Where we cannot repair your unit, or repair would be uneconomical, we will tell you and no repair charge applies (the testing fee in 3.4 may still apply). In such cases we may offer a new or exchange replacement unit at a quoted price instead. Any replacement supplied is a sale of goods governed by our Terms & Conditions of Sale; where an exchange unit is offered, your unit may be accepted as the exchange core, subject to the core conditions in those Terms.

4. Payment

4.1 Payment is due on completion of the work, before return despatch (or collection), unless agreed otherwise in writing.

5. Cancellation (consumers)

5.1 If you are a consumer and the service was arranged at a distance, you have a 14-day right to cancel from the day the contract is made. If you ask us to begin work within that period, you may still cancel but must pay for work done up to cancellation. Once the service has been fully performed with your prior express consent, the right to cancel is lost.

6. Warranty on repairs

6.1 Repair work is warranted for 12 months from despatch against defects in our workmanship and the parts we fitted, limited to re-repair or, at our option, refund of the repair charge.

6.2 The warranty does not cover: faults unrelated to the work performed; damage from fuel contamination, misuse, or incorrect installation; units whose seals have been broken or which have been tampered with after leaving us; or subsequent failure of components we identified as worn but you declined to have repaired.

6.3 Installation must follow the requirements set out in our Terms & Conditions of Sale (competent technician, cleaning, filters, seals, coding).

7. Uncollected units

7.1 Units left with us (where a quotation is declined, or return carriage/payment is not arranged) will be held for 90 days from our notice to you. We will attempt to contact you at least twice using the details provided.

7.2 After that period, uncollected units may be disposed of or recycled, and any proceeds set against amounts you owe us. This clause does not affect sums due for completed work.

8. Liability

8.1 Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for any liability that cannot lawfully be excluded. Subject to that, we are not liable for consequential or indirect losses (labour, removal/refitting, recovery, vehicle hire, loss of use), and our total liability in connection with any repair is limited to the greater of the repair charge paid and the reasonable value of your unit as received.

9. General

9.1 These terms are governed by the law of Northern Ireland; consumers retain the protections of their country of residence. Complaints: sales@tyronedieselsystems.com.
